Biometrics by the Border Program – Outline

Please note that Kingscliff, located in New South Wales, will be operating under daylight savings time (Australian Eastern Daylight Time – EDT) for the duration of the conference. This means the time in New South Wales will be 1 hour ahead of the time in Queensland (Australian Eastern Standard Time – EST) – for example 3pm in Queensland is 4pm in New South Wales. All times below refer to daylight savings time.

Saturday 25th November:

  • Pre-conference workshop 1 – 10am to 6pm

Sunday 26th November:

  • Pre-conference workshop 1 – 8:30am to 5:30pm
  • Pre-conference workshops 2 & 3 – 9am to 5pm
  • Registration desk open – 5pm to 7pm
  • Welcome reception – 6pm to 8pm

Monday 27th November:

  • Registration desk open – 8am
  • Day 1 of conference period – Welcome, invited & contributed sessions – 9am to 4:10pm
  • Poster session – 4:30pm to 7pm in the Zig-Zag Gardens at Mantra

Tuesday 28th November:

  • Day 2 of conference period – invited & contributed sessions – 9am to 12:50pm
  • Social activities:
    • Winery Tour: Departing Mantra at 1pm sharp
    • Bus to Byron Bay: Departing Mantra at 1:15pm
    • Kayak Tour and Learn to Surf: Departing Mantra at approx. 2pm
  • Young statisticians dinner – commencing at 7pm at Salt Bar, Beach Bar & Bistro

Wednesday 29th November:

  • Day 3 of conference period – invited & contributed sessions – 9am to 4:30pm
  • Conference dinner – Mavis’s Kitchen – 5pm to 11pm – Buses departing from 5pm, with last bus leaving Mantra at 5:15pm sharp

Thursday 30th November:

  • Day 4 of conference period – invited & contributed sessions, closing ceremony – 9am to 12:30pm
