Venue: The conference will take place at Copthorne Hotel and Resort Bay of Islands, Waitangi, NZ from Monday, November 27–Friday, 1 December, 2023. The Copthorne Hotel is located at 1 Tau Henare Drive, Waitangi.

Travel options:

1. Driving: Waitangi is 270 km from Auckland International Airport, and the drive takes approximately four hours by car.
2. Flying: Air New Zealand flies to and from Kerikeri Airport five times a day. The flights are currently modestly priced between NZD59 and NZD164 each way. The airport is a 22 minute drive from the conference venue. We are currently investigating transport options as the hotel no longer operates a shuttle service.
3. Bus: InterCity runs three buses a day from Auckland CBD to Paihia (an easy 2 km walk or taxi ride from the hotel). Tickets start at NZD35, and the trip takes just over four hours. There are many transport options from Auckland International including bus, taxi, or rideshare (Uber). Important—Thomas Lumley has informed us that the last bus for Auckland on December 1st leaves Paihia at 1335. If you are returning to Auckland on this bus, then please let us know so that we do not schedule you too late in the programme.
4. Other: We could consider maintaining a list of New Zealanders who are driving and who have a spare seat if there is demand. If you want to walk, cycle or hitchhike then you are on your own!
