Conferences can be intense, with this in mind, the Local Organising Committee have organised some great social activities that will provide an opportunity to meet new faces and catch up with your biometrical colleagues.
There will be a welcome reception on the evening of Sunday the 29th of November to help you get into the spirit of the conference (relaxed, amiable and interested). Also, on Wednesday 2nd of December, there will be a conference dinner at the Visitor's Centre at the Cascade Brewery . It should be a cracker of an evening. Both the welcome reception and the conference dinner are included in the conference registration.
There will also be a series of afternoon excursions on Tuesday 1st December. There is something for everyone: Art (trip to MONA); Food and Wine (tour of the Richmond area); and outdoor activities (bushwalk and kayak trip). Please see this PDF file for details on the excursions. Places are limited on some of the excursions so book early to avoid disappointment. The cost of the excursions is not included in the conference fee.
Lastly, we strongly encourage conference delegates to wear name badges at all conference functions. It can help communication by removing one obstacle for those who are not-so-good with remembering names.
Full details can be found in the PDF file.
